MiDAS provides both classroom-based theory training and an on-road driving assessment for all minibus drivers and additional training on passenger assistance and the use of wheelchair accessible vehicles, for drivers who will be transporting passengers with disabilities. Our MiDAS Train the Trainer courses run one per month.
Regular refresher training is a significant element of MiDAS and in order to retain their MiDAS Certificate, drivers must attend refresher training within the specified period.
Three Shires Driving Centre Ltd provides courses for both the drivers and the trainers so if your organisation is looking to have trainers trained to deliver MiDAS courses or if you are looking to have your minibus drivers, passenger assistants or car and MPV drivers trained Three Shires is your one stop shop.
We can train up to three at our MiDAS Trainer location in East Northants or we can travel to you provided you have three or more delegates and a suitable facility for training, for one to one training the courses are at our location.
For your minibus drivers there are two courses one is for driving a standard minibus the other deals with driving accessible minibuses and assisting wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties and other disabilities. You must have D1 on your licence to attend these courses.
For those involved with assisting wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties and other disabilities when travelling on minibuses this is the course for you.
For those who drive cars or MPV’s within the care environment this course is designed to give the same level of training as the minibus courses.
