The DSA have announced that Driving Instructors Continual Professional Development (CPD) will remain voluntary for the time being. This decision has been taken as they do not want to burden Driving Instructors with extra fees and whilst the system for check testing is in place they cannot see any reason to remove an instructor from the register for not partaking in CPD.

They do however recommend Driving Instructors continue to keep up to date and record all CPD courses attended.
